Theme: International Relations in a Changing World Order Applications are invited from interested candidates for the JAIR Fall Internship Programme 2026
on
“International Relations in a Changing World Order.”

Programme Details:

Duration: 14 September–14 October 2026
Total Duration: 60 hours
Mode: Online Time: 6:30 p.m.–8:30 p.m. (except on holidays)
Internship Fee: ₹3,500/-

Eligibility: Undergraduate students and above

Application Procedure:   Interested candidates are required to submit their bio-data on plain paper by email to info@jaironline.com on or before 14 August 2026.

Module I: Understanding the Changing World Order — 6 Hours • Meaning and evolution of the international order • From bipolarity and unipolarity to multipolarity • Contemporary debates on power transition • Crisis of the liberal international order

Module II: Theories and Approaches to International Relations — 6 Hours • Realism, liberalism and constructivism • Marxist and critical approaches • Feminist and postcolonial perspectives • Relevance of IR theories to contemporary developments

Module III: Major Powers and Global Power Shifts — 6 Hours • Changing role of the United States • Rise of China and emerging strategic competition • Russia and the transformation of Eurasian geopolitics • European Union and Japan in the evolving international order

Module IV: India and the Emerging World Order — 6 Hours • Evolution of India’s foreign policy • Strategic autonomy and multi-alignment • India’s relations with major powers and neighbouring countries • India’s role in the Indo-Pacific and the Global South

Module V: International and Regional Organisations — 6 Hours • United Nations and the need for institutional reform • G20, BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation • ASEAN, European Union, African Union and other regional organisations • Emerging forms of minilateralism and global governance

Module VI: Contemporary Security Challenges — 6 Hours • Traditional and non-traditional security • Terrorism, extremism and transnational crime • Cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and information warfare • Maritime, energy, health and human security

Module VII: International Political Economy and Development — 6 Hours • Globalisation and its changing character • International trade, finance and economic diplomacy • Supply chains, critical minerals and economic security • Development, inequality and South–South cooperation

Module VIII: Climate Change, Migration and Humanitarian Challenges — 6 Hours • Climate diplomacy and environmental governance • Sustainable development and climate justice • Migration, refugees and displacement • Humanitarian intervention and disaster governance

Module IX: Diplomacy, Media and Technology — 6 Hours • Traditional, public and digital diplomacy • Media, narratives and international public opinion • Artificial intelligence and technological competition • Disinformation and the changing practice of diplomacy

Module X: Research, Policy Analysis and Presentations — 6 Hours • Fundamentals of research in International Relations • Policy brief and report-writing techniques • Data collection, source evaluation and research ethics • Participant presentations and final evaluation
